Corrie star to be jilted at the altar

‘Coronation Street’s Fiz Brown calls off her wedding to jailed John Stape at the last minute.

The soap machinist will break down in tears after her half brother Chesney refuses to go to see her tie the knot in the prison chapel, and calls things off after she turns up alone.

Jennie McAlpine, who plays Fiz, said: “At the last minute she can’t go through with it. The registrar is waiting for them when she suddenly tells John she can’t marry him without Ches’ approval. John’s heartbroken.”

Just as it looks like all hope is lost, however, Chesney (Sam Aston) appears on the horizon.

She added: “She’s sitting on the pavement in her wedding dress, clutching the wedding rings and crying her eyes out when suddenly she sees Ches and Hayley running towards her.

“Ches apologises for missing the wedding but Fiz says she couldn’t go ahead without him and they hug.”

Jennie however warned that with most of ‘Coronation Street’ against her union with former schoolteacher John – who is in prison for kidnapping soap siren Rosie Webster (Helen Flanagan) –they won’t face an easy life together.
