Wood a big fan of animated roles
Elijah Wood loves starring in animated films because he doesn't have to do much.
The 'Lord of the Rings' star loved lending his voice to a character in new animated film '9' because he spent all his time on set lazing around.
He said: "There have been interesting parallels drawn between the character of '9' and Frodo in 'Lord of the Rings'. I realised that they are both sort of innocents that accept a sense of responsibility and go on this journey and they both grow.
"But it was a lot less demanding taking the journey in an animated movie where all I had to do was sit in front of a microphone!"
After 20 years in the film industry, Elijah feels like he has earned a break from gruelling shoots, and hopes to do more animated features in the future.
He told Parade: "I was in movies when I was eight years old, so to me that was normal. I always felt older than I was and I think a lot of that had to do with the fact that I had to be professional.
"I worked with adults and I had responsibilities that most kids at that age didn't have. But I never thought I was being robbed of my youth or robbed of innocence. If anything, I felt like I was gaining experiences and sort of growing in a really good way as a result of it."
