Depressed kitchen-fitter ends up in debt on Corrie

'Coronation Street's Joe McIntyre ends up £9,000 in debt with a ruthless loan shark.

The kitchen-fitter - who is battling depression and financial ruin - borrows £2,000 from shark Rick Neeland but can't afford to pay it back so Rick raises it to a staggering £9,000.

But Joe - who lives with partner Gail Platt and her son David - still can't find the cash and his life, and that of his family, are put in danger.

Rick (Greg Wood) turns up at their house and gives Joe (Reece Dinsdale) a terrifying warning.

He tells him: "Unless you pay up we'll hound you and intimidate you until you're scared to leave the house.

"By the time we're finished with you, you'll sell everything you own and borrow from everybody you know just to get rid of us.

"Next time I won't be on my own and we'll be calling when your family is here to strip the place if we have to."

Desperate Joe looks in the house for anything of value and then decides he will do anything to protect his family, even if it means getting hurt.

The scenes will be aired on the ITV soap in November.
