Kelly Clarkson "doesn't care" when she appears on Worst Dressed lists.
The 'My Life Would Suck Without You' singer would rather be criticised for wearing something unusual than be too scared to take fashion risks.
She said: "Oh God, I don't care at all. I've literally had people say to me, 'Why are you wearing that?' and I'm like, 'I don't know, someone laid it out for me and I put it on!' I've never been the person that cared about that stuff. Good God, there are like more important things in the world. I grew up in a small town where everyone put their two cents in, so this is just on a bigger scale."
Kelly admits her dress sense can be eclectic, revealing she doesn't have a set style as she is most concerned with wearing comfortable clothing.
She revealed to Britain's Heat magazine: "I'm a little all over the place. I love dresses - I've worn this Diane von Furstenberg dress a few times because I love dresses that are comfortable, especially in the summer when it's so hot. But I'm also a jeans girl - I'm a little bit of a tomboy and I'm a little bit girly as well."
Kelly, 27, is also happy to be photographed without her make-up, insisting she is proud of her natural face.
She is equally as happy to be known for her curvy figure, and insists any changes in her physique are due to a new exercise regime, not a faddy diet.
She said: "I guess my thing is, sometimes I'm thinner and sometimes I'm thicker. It just depends. Some years I love pizza more, and some years I get into not eating meat. I fluctuate a lot.
"I think if people want to lose weight, then watch what you're eating and work out. It's the age-old diet."
