Cheryl Cole reunited two lovebirds on 'The X Factor'.

The judge - whose marriage to footballer Ashley Cole was rocked last year after claims he cheated on her with a hairdresser - became upset when teenage sweethearts Kirsty and Jack admitted they called off their engagement two weeks earlier after arguing about household chores.

When the pair, who perform together as Combined Effort, take to the stage Jack forgets his words, prompting Kirsty to help him by clutching his hand.

Cheryl said: "I think she still loves you, you know Jack."

Fellow judge Simon Cowell added: "I think you should ask Kirsty back out."

Jack admits the pair cancelled their wedding plans after rowing about washing up and going out.

After Cheryl's comments the couple decide to give their love another chance live on stage, much to the delight on the audience.

A clearly-moved Cheryl begs the pair to re-think their decisions, claiming relationships need to be worked at.

A source said: "It was a tender moment. Everyone cheered. Cheryl wasn't taking no for an answer and the pair looked genuinely relieved to be back together. It looked like no-one wanted to make the first move - it was all down to Cheryl."
