Liv Tyler wears perfume in her bellybutton, the actress has revealed.

The 'Lord of the Rings' star was given the unusual tip by her father, Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler, and insists it makes the fragrance feel like it belongs to her.

She explained: "My dad is full of great beauty advice, like wear your perfume in your belly button and on the soles of your feet so that it becomes part of you."

The 32-year-old brunette beauty has also picked up a number of useful recommendations from other members of her family, including her model mother Bebe Buell.

She explained: "My mom and grandmother were models and took such good care of their skin that I couldn't help but learn from them. I can't go to bed without cleansing, toning and moisturising - no matter how late it is. I use masks a lot, too."

This is not the first time Liz has revealed some of her beauty secrets.

Liv - who has a four-year-old son with her estranged husband, musician Royston Langdon - previously revealed she uses lipstick as blusher as it gives a longer lasting colour.

She said: "Just press the colour into your cheeks so it looks like a stain. I like wearing pink lipstick as, unlike red, you can still apply it after a few cocktails."
