‘I Love You, Beth Cooper’ just too unrealistic

Another – less-than-satisfactory – teenage romance trotting out the overworked nerd-meets-school-hottie tripe.

Rust is the nerd who reveals his long-held crush on the classroom beauty (Panetiere) during a speech day and she, for a totally unfathomable reason, turns up that very same night at his front door because she thinks it’s kinda cute.

But Rust isn’t nearly cute enough to convince us his lightweight character would get such a girl – nerds don’t really land the school sex goddess, do they? – and, given that, there’s nothing else about the film to sustain our interest.
