Elbow want to be as big as U2

Elbow are currently supporting U2 on tour and frontman Guy Garvey admits the experience is a "childhood dream come true".

He added: "It's a great honour to support them because they're the biggest band in the world at the minute and have been for 20 years.

"I keep thinking, 'Right what do you do next apart from that kind of thing yourself?.' "

The 'Grounds for Divorce' quintet play their own homecoming show in Manchester next month and afterwards will return to their own Blueprint studio to begin work on the follow-up to their award-winning LP 'The Seldom-Seen Kid'.

Garvey added to the BBC: "We've got 30 or 40 odds and ends musically.

"I've got a couple of books worth of scribbles so we're just going to keep doing that for maybe six months. After that we'll hammer the strongest ideas into a record.

"I'm looking forward to being back in the bunker again."
