EastEnders stars in frame for pregnancy storyline

A mystery pregnancy storyline is to rock ‘EastEnders’.

One of the BBC soap’s top female characters will find herself expecting a child in the coming weeks, with the repercussions of the situation reverberating around Albert Square for months to come.

A source said: “Show bosses are really excited about this storyline, it’s going to shock viewers to the core. Everyone’s keeping tight-lipped about the mum-to-be – it’s sure to keep people on the edge of their seats.”

Among the women in the frame is Ronnie Mitchell, played by Samantha Womack.

Ronnie has recently made contact with her ex-boyfriend Joel, the father of her late daughter Danielle. Could the couple reunite and decide to start a family together?

Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) is also in the line-up, following her revelation that she slept with strangers during a series of wild nights out.

Straight-laced Zainab Masood is struggling to deal with the fact her children have all grown up, could she be planning a pregnancy?

Other women in the spotlight are Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons), who is set to embark on a saucy romance with a new resident, and Tanya Branning (Jo Joyner) who recently rekindled her relationship with estranged husband Max.
