Bullock happy about Reynolds' leading man profile

Sandra Bullock is "glad" Ryan Reynolds gets lead roles.

The 'Proposal' actress - who stars alongside Ryan in the romantic comedy - has been friends with the 32-year-old actor for nine years, and is delighted that he can now command the main parts in films.

She said: "I was so happy to go to work with Ryan, and he is an amazing man. I am so glad he gets to be the leading man now."

Bullock, 45 - who plays Margaret Tate in 'The Proposal', a hard-nosed editor who forces her assistant Andrew Paxton, portrayed by Reynolds, to marry her so she can avoid deportation - admitted the two were initially wary of working together.

She explained: "The first day we got a little worried it wouldn't work, but thankfully each day just got better and better. We just sort of relaxed and concentrated on the work, because Ryan and I work the same way and we worry the same way.

"We stress out, we want the scene to be better, we work on the weekends. And if you do comedy and you fail, there is no-one there to help. No music, no editing."
