‘Wide Open Spaces’ a disappointment
Director: Tom Hall
Cast: Tom Hall, Ardal O’Hanlon, Ewan Bremner, Gerard McSorley, Owen Roe
This is a buddy comedy that fails to be funny or even worth watching.
O’Hanlon and Bremner play a couple of pals who get a job in a potato famine theme park run by a couple of dodgy types – one a vamp who hits on them both, the other a crooked businessman who enrols them in a debt collection scheme.
The pals also live in a tin hut on the dismal park where they sit around and exchange talk that is neither engrossing or funny.
There is an air of really-couldn’t-care-less about the film and it swiftly transfers itself to the audience.
