US politician attacks sentimental coverage of 'pervert' Jackson
An American congressman has attacked the media coverage of Michael Jackson’s death and said he was a “pervert”.
New York Republican Peter King said society was “glorifying” a “low-life” while ignoring the efforts of teachers, police officers, firefighters, services veterans and volunteers.
Jackson was acquitted of molesting a boy.
In a YouTube video, the congressman said the “day in and day out” coverage of Jackson’s death was “too politically correct”.
He conceded that Jackson “may have been a good singer” and “did some dancing”.
Mr King has said previously he represents the interests of “blue-collar conservatives”.
