'Blood: The Last Vampire' for fans of the genre only
Director: Chris Nohan
Cast: Allison Miller, Liam Cunningham, Gianna Jun
Cert: 16
Who’s the demon? Sexy teenager Saya (Jun) – she of the 400-year-old soul, being the product of a human father and a vampire mother – works in Japan for a Government agency that tracks down and sees off demons, of which there seems to be plenty.
She is sent undercover to a US military base to find the evil one amongst her classmates, and to discover who she herself might really be.
Vampires are making something of a major screen comeback these days but, alas, this film won’t enhance their reputation.
The storyline is pretty feeble and the action, though there’s plenty of it, ultimately annoys. Still, for fans of blood and gore but not much else, this one will do.
Star Rating: 2/5
