Boyle to appear at live shows
'Britain’s Got Talent' star Susan Boyle will perform at today’s live shows, organisers said.
Boyle, 48, has missed several dates on the television talent show’s live tour, including two shows in Nottingham yesterday, to take rest days.
She will perform at both shows at Wembley Arena, in north west London, at 1.30pm and 6.30pm today, a spokeswoman said.
After Boyle, the bookies’ favourite, was beaten in the final by dance group Diversity, she was taken to the Priory Clinic in central London.
One of the show’s judges, Piers Morgan, said she was emotionally drained and exhausted.
Boyle became the focus of international attention after her powerful audition performance of 'I Dreamed A Dream', from the musical 'Les Miserables', left the audience and judges open-mouthed with surprise.
Her performance was watched by millions of people worldwide on the internet and film star Demi Moore and singer Elaine Paige were among her celebrity fans.
Pressure on the 48-year-old church worker from Blackburn, West Lothian, increased as she was named as the bookies’ favourite to win the show.
Simon Cowell admitted in an interview with the Daily Mail yesterday that Boyle had found it difficult to deal with the stress.
“Looking back on it all, it has become clear to me that we didn’t handle the situation with Susan as well as we could have,” he said.
“Yet, to be honest, I don’t know that I could have done it any differently.”
The 'Britain’s Got Talent' live tour ends in Bournemouth International Centre on July 5.
There are 12 more shows at venues in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Coventry, London, Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff and Bournemouth.
Boyle has missed shows in Nottingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Cardiff.
