Blur experimenting with new material
Blur bassist Alex James admits the reformed Britpop icons have been jamming together on fresh material, despite the band having previously insisted they are not planning to support their current reunion tour with new songs.
He said: "Damon Albarn will be jangling along with some chords and I'll start banging along and Graham will join in. Our musical cup overflow-eth at the moment. It's all good."
However, guitarist Graham Coxon insisted the band haven't completed any songs yet.
He added to BBC 6 Music: "I don't think it's hard to make music that isn't the old songs.
"I think it's actually giving it time and doing justice to it really. We wouldn't want to just sling stuff together to play this summer. It wouldn't be right.
"We really don't want to put ourselves under any pressure. I think we want to have fun with these shows and then we'll think about that really."
