Future of 'Batman' franchise cast into doubt

Director Christopher Nolan is reportedly not returning for the next 'Batman' film, leading to doubts about the future of franchise in its current form.

The filmmaker, who helmed the first two movies in the rejuvenated franchise, is said to be unhappy with studio Warner Brothers wish to include The Joker as a character in the movie.
