Sonique 'stable' after breast operation

Singer and DJ Sonique was in a “stable condition” today after a breast cancer operation, her spokesman said.

The 40-year-old underwent surgery at a clinic in Harley Street, central London, yesterday, less than a week after discovering that she had the disease.

Spokesman Stuart Watts said: “Sonique has had her operation yesterday and is in a stable condition this afternoon. We await for further results over the next 48 hours from her doctors.”

Sonique, whose real name is Sonia Clarke, had chart hits with 'I Put A Spell On You' and 'It Feels So Good'.

She is due to remain in hospital until Saturday, Mr Watts said, and the July release of her new single,' World Of Change', depends on her health.
