Singer Boyle 'will appear' at gig

Organisers of the 'Britain’s Got Talent' live show said tonight Susan Boyle will take to the stage in front of a home crowd in Scotland.

There had been doubts over whether the singer from Blackburn, West Lothian, would perform at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow after she withdrew from the third date of the tour in Manchester yesterday.

But tonight a spokesman said: “Susan will perform.”

Last night concert-goers at the Manchester Evening News Arena were greeted at the venue with notices stating that Boyle will not perform at either of the scheduled matinee or evening shows.

Church volunteer Boyle went from a quiet life to global fame after the video of her singing 'I Dreamed A Dream' in her 'Britain’s Got Talent' audition was watched hundreds of millions of times on the internet.

The singer was admitted to the Priory clinic after coming second to dance troupe Diversity in the TV contest broadcast on ITV1 but left five days later.

Boyle dispelled doubts as to whether she would perform in the live tour when she appeared at the opening show in Birmingham on Friday night.

She wowed the crowd with renditions of 'I Dreamed A Dream' from the musical 'Les Miserables' and 'Memory' from the musical 'Cats'.

The next day in Sheffield she seemed to stumble over her words as she sang 'Memory' and had provoked a mixed reaction from the audience with several people booing her when her name was announced.
