Paige: I'm backing Boyle

Singer Elaine Paige said today that she will be backing Susan Boyle in tomorrow’s 'Britain’s Got Talent' final and wished her good luck.

Paige said she was “very touched” that Boyle had chosen to sing Memory during the semi final stages.

The opening of the musical 'Cats' in 1981 led to Paige’s rendition of the classic song becoming one of her hit records.

Paige said: “I’d like to wish Susan good luck for the final of 'Britain’s Got Talent' on Saturday night.

“I was very touched she chose to sing Memory in the semi finals to help her win a place.

“I’ll be watching tomorrow night with fingers crossed and hopefully I’ll see her on my BBC Radio 2 show very soon.”
