Jay-Z confirms Def Jam departure
Jay-Z has confirmed reports he's parted ways with longtime label Def Jam Records, branding his time with the company as "a unique and fulfilling experience".
The rapper bought himself out of his deal with the iconic label this week, paying a reported $5m (€3.57m) to buy back the rights to his forthcoming album 'The Blueprint 3' - which would have been his final contractual release on Def Jam.
