Applegate comedy axed

Cancer survivor Christina Applegate has been dealt a career blow - her critically acclaimed US sitcom has been axed.

According to Daily Variety, ABC bosses have cancelled 'Samantha Who?' due to economic reasons.

Applegate was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy for the sitcom last year.

The actress underwent a mastectomy last year after she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
