Woody Allen wins $5m settlement over image usage
US star Woody Allen won a $5m last-minute settlement over a lawsuit against US clothing giant American Apparel today.
The internationally-acclaimed director had protested that the company had used his image without consent in a series of adverts.
The firm had initially intended to bring up Mr Allen’s personal life as part of their defence but chief executive Dov Charney announced that the deal had been struck shortly before the New York court case was due to start.
