'Slumdog' child star back at home after demolition drama

Young 'Slumdog Millionaire' star Azharuddin Modammed Ismail's family have rebuilt the makeshift home that was demolished in the slums of Mumbai, India last week.

Young 'Slumdog Millionaire' star Azharuddin Modammed Ismail's family have rebuilt the makeshift home that was demolished in the slums of Mumbai, India last week.

City officials chased the sleeping family out of their shanty shack early on Thursday before destroying their home along with 30 others.

The authorities defended their actions, stating they regularly evict residents who reportedly have no legal right to occupy the land they are living on.

But the child star's defiant father has rebuilt the shack.

The boy's mother told CBS News: "We've lived here for at least 15 years. They (authorities) didn't show us any paperwork. They just came and started demolishing our hut."

Ismail lost his beloved pet kittens in the early-morning demolition raid and claims police threatened to beat him if he didn't leave his home.
