Kevin Spacey lost his temper on the London stage when a dramatic scene was ruined after an audience member's mobile phone rang.

The actor tried to keep his cool during the performance, at the Old Vic theatre he runs in London's West End theatre district, but exploded with rage when the culprit didn't cut the call.

Spacey revealed: "I was doing a play called 'The Ice Man Cometh' at the Old Vic, and in the middle of the quietest moment of the second act, a phone started ringing. I felt the anger starting in my toes and it came right out of my mouth, as loud as anything else I'd said on the stage, I looked out to the audience and said, 'Tell them you're busy!' And it got a round of applause."
