Norway crowned Eurovision winners

Norway has won this year's Eurovision song contest.

The Norwegian entry, 'Fairytale' by Alexander Rybak, scored 387 votes - the highest ever total in the competition's history.

One of the pre-contest favourites, Rybak wrote the music and lyrics to 'Fairytale'.

Ireland's entry 'Et Cetera', performed by Sinead Mulvey and Black Daisy, failed to progress from the semi-final stage of the competition.
