Depeche Mode have been forced to scrap four more shows on their 'Sounds of The Universe' tour as frontman Dave Gahan battles gastroenteritis.

The trio scrapped two shows in Greece and Turkey this week after the singer fell ill, and now concerts in Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Croatia have been called off.

The tour is now shut down until May 21, when Depeche Mode hope to continue with a healthy Gahan.

But the cancelled European concerts are not slowing down the group's success on the continent's album charts - they have scored a third week at number one.

Their 'Sounds of The Universe' album continues to keep Bob Dylan's 'Together

Through Life' off the top of the European Top 100 Albums countdown.

The album is number one in Germany, Switzerland, Hungary and Greece and number two in Italy, France and Austria.

Lady GaGa, who claims the third spot on the European album chart with 'The Fame', tops the European Hot 100 Singles chart for the 12th week with 'Poker Face'.
