Britney fan arrested after stage invasion

An overzealous Britney Spears fan was arrested at the singer's concert in Connecticut last Saturday night after storming the stage during the show's finale.

The pop superstar was performing her hit song 'Womanizer' during the encore at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville when the male fan climbed over the security barriers and jumped onstage to get closer to his idol.

The unnamed 20-year-old was apprehended by security guards with the help of Spears' dancers, and was handed over to Connecticut State Police.

He was arrested for breach of peace and also booked for interfering with police after refusing to co-operate with cops.

According to TMZ.com, the man was released on Sunday morning after paying a $250 (€187) bond.

The Connecticut concert is one of Spears' final shows in North America before taking her Circus to Europe.
