Sting's daughter fractures skull

Sting's teenage daughter Coco is recovering in a Los Angeles hospital after fracturing her skull in a freak accident.

Coco Sumner, 18, remains in an intensive care ward after collapsing at an LA restaurant last weekend and hitting her head on a chair as she fell to the ground.

Sting, who is currently working in the US, rushed to his daughter's bedside, while his wife, Trudie Styler, flew in from London.

A source told The Mail On Sunday: "One of the waiters helped her to her feet but she complained that she didn't feel well. The staff and Coco's friend were very concerned and called for an ambulance and Coco was taken to hospital. No one was taking any chances as it was quite a scary fall. She hadn't had anything to drink and it happened quite early into the evening.

"The doctors are still running tests. Obviously it's a serious injury and Coco is under constant surveillance. Trudie and Sting were obviously besides themselves with worry. It was a blessing that Sting was in the States at the time and was able to get to the hospital so quickly. Coco is still very shaken."

A spokesman for the family adds, "It was a worrying time for Sting and Trudie but, thankfully, Coco is recovering well."

The teenager, an aspiring singer/songwriter, is currently living in LA while she completes her debut album.
