Chenoweth eyes Springfield role

Kristen Chenoweth is hoping to play legendary British singer Dusty Springfield in a new biopic.

“God, I want to do Dusty’s story so bad,” the Pushing Daisies actress told E!.

“She’s amazing and nobody knows the real thing, or some people do, but not the world.”

Dusty, who died of cancer in 1999, had hits including 'Son Of A Preacher Man' and 'The Look Of Love' during a career which began in the 1960s.

“I want Kerry Washington to play my girlfriend,” added Kristin, who is apparently developing a script for the project.
