Britney and Miley support gay marriage

Britney Spears and Miley Cyrus have come out in support of gay marriage in the wake of controversial comments by Miss California Carrie Prejean.

“Love is love!” Britney says on her Twitter page. “People should be able to do whatever makes them happy!”

Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton had asked Miss America contestant Carrie during last weekend’s Miss USA competition if she thought more US states should legalise same-sex marriage. She replied that she thought marriage should be between a man and a woman.

'Hannah Montana' star Miley also weighed in to the debate, saying: “Jesus loves you AND your partner and wants you to know how much He cares!”
