Singing sensation Susan Boyle has agreed to go out for dinner with 'Britain’s Got Talent' judge Piers Morgan.

Morgan said Boyle had “great appeal and charm” and invited her out as both were interviewed on American talk show Larry King Live.

Boyle, who has been watched by millions of internet viewers since she stunned judges and a sceptical audience on the talent show, immediately accepted his offer.

The 47-year-old unemployed church volunteer’s rendition of 'I Dreamed A Dream' from the musical 'Les Miserables' turned her into a global phenomenon with celebrity fans including actress Demi Moore.

Her fanbase is set to increase after Ms Boyle, from Blackburn in West Lothian, gave an interview via satellite link to chat show legend Larry King.

King asked Ms Boyle, who is single and said she has never been kissed, how fame would change her life.

“Well, I won’t be lonely. I certainly won’t be lonely any more,” she said.

Asked if she would change her image, Ms Boyle replied: “Why should I change?”

Morgan quickly chipped in: “Quite right.

“The great appeal and charm of Susan is the way she is. The way she looks, the way she acts. She is her own woman.”

He said “everyone is falling in love” with the singer and admitted he was “very touched” by flattering remarks she had made about him.

Morgan said he was particularly pleased Ms Boyle said she would prefer him to head judge Simon Cowell as a suitor, adding: “I would like to extend an invitation to you to have dinner with me in London, Susan.”

Ms Boyle replied: “I accept”.

Morgan also apologised to Ms Boyle, saying the judges should have shown more respect when the dowdy, middle-aged woman came onto the stage in Glasgow to audition.

“We thought you were going to be a bit of a joke act, to be honest with you,” he said.

“I had never heard a more surprising, extraordinary voice coming out of somebody so unexpected.”

Morgan told King that hearing Ms Boyle sing for the first time was “extraordinary” and “astounding”, comparing it to when the eventual 2007 winner Paul Potts first sang for the judges.

He said shows like 'Britain’s Got Talent' were the “only real hope of achieving this kind of stardom” for people like Ms Boyle, who had a dream but did not look like a stereotypical pop star.

“What’s astounding is the speed and the breadth of her success,” he added.

“Susan Boyle has gone from total obscurity in the space of five days to global superstar and that’s just extraordinary.

“I think the sky’s the limit for Susan. The whole world is going crazy for her.

Ms Boyle said her next career move would depend on how she fared on the talent show and added: “We’ll take baby steps at a time. I’ll take each day as it comes.”

Morgan predicted that Ms Boyle will have a number one album and a world tour even if she does not win.

Larry King’s interview with Susan Boyle will be shown on CNN International at 10am BST on Monday.

Bookmaker Ladbrokes today said Ms Boyle was the shortest priced favourite at this stage of any British talent show after her odds of winning were cut to 2/5.

Spokesman Nick Weinberg said: “The interest in Susan Boyle is unlike anything we’ve ever seen.

“She has captured punters’ imaginations like no other wannabe before her.”
