Madonna still hopes to adopt Mercy

Madonna has told a Malawian newspaper she still wants to adopt a Malawian girl to educate her and empower her to help people in the poor African nation.

The pop star told The Nation she could not say much pending her appeal against a court ruling that she was not eligible to adopt a three-year-old orphan girl, Chifundo “Mercy” James, because she has not lived in Malawi.
