Fatboy Slim extends rehab stint
DJ Fatboy Slim has extended his time in a rehab facility as part of his ongoing bid to overcome an alcohol addiction.
The star - real name Norman Cook - was due to leave the Providence Project clinic in Bournemouth, England at the weekend after checking in on March 2 to kick his drinking problem.
Now he has pulled out of the Snowbombing music festival in Austria after deciding to continue his rehabilitation therapy.
A statement on the star's official website read: "I'm choked to be missing out on the gig in the mountain forest but I really hope Snowbombing will have me back for another crack at it next year. Sorry to let you down folks."
His manager Garry Blackburn maintains the star is doing well on his road to recovery - but will not be performing until after June.
He said: "Norman's doing great, he is clearly already stronger and better for what he has done. The thing is that the rehabilitation process needs quite a dramatic shutdown of your previous lifestyle and it would not have been a good idea for him to have gone back to performing so soon. He can now have a few months before he needs to do that."
