Excellent performances in ‘Traitor’

A cut above some of the recent terrorist-spy thrillers with a strong second-half piling on the action and the plot twists while also providing a thoughtful narrative about the reasons the characters are doing what we see them do.

Cheadle plays an American Muslim whose father is killed in a car bombing, a tragedy that drives him into the shadowy world of terrorism.

The ‘Traitor’ title allows us to consider the reasons for his actions when he and his colleagues set out with the intent to cause damage to the USA through a terror campaign … hotly pursued by FBI agent Pearce.

The performances are excellent and throughout the film we are given plenty to mull over.
