'Paul Blart: Mall Cop' a satisfying comedy

Director: Steve Carr

Cast: Kevin James, Keir O’Donnell

A surprisingly good goofball comedy that comes across as an affectionate spoof of films like 'Die Hard' in which an unlikely loner takes on a gang of baddies in impossible circumstances.

James, better known for his role in 'King of Queens' on TV, makes a successful leap into the movies as the overweight, prone-to-fainting security guard in a Californian mall (he regularly failed to pass the medicals to become a police officer) that’s taken over by a gang of crooks.

If you don’t take it too seriously but go along for the ride this comedy will more than satisfy.
