Indie rock icons the Pixies are to regroup for a string of summer European shows.

The 'Debaser' hitmakers will appear at the Isle of Wight festival in Britain in June and they plan to add more dates.

The group, fronted by Frank Black, last split in 2007 and have since sparked reports their hiatus would be permanent.

They reunited in 2004 after an 11-year break.

A revealing film chronicling their reunion shows, called 'loudQuietloud: A Film About the Pixies', suggested the quartet had a series of unresolved issues that would destroy any hope of a permanent comeback.

Black has since revealed he and bandmate Kim Deal had lost interest in the Pixies.
