Throat problems force Gandolfini to cancel matinee

Former 'The Sopranos' star James Gandolfini was forced to scrap yesterday's matinee of his Broadway show 'God of Carnage' - to rest his voice.

The actor was told to rest up or risk voice problems by doctors.

Wednesday evening's performance of the play, also starring Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis and Marcia Gay Harden, is expected to go ahead as planned.

The play is currently in previews - an official opening is set for March 22 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.
