'Monsters' movie gets blue-carpet premiere

Kiefer Sutherland and Reese Witherspoon will be on a galactic blue carpet today for the UK premiere of 'Monsters Vs Aliens'.

Witherspoon plays Susan Murphy, who is unwittingly clobbered by a meteor full of outer space gunk on her wedding day and grows to 49ft 11ins in height.

The military spring into action and she is shoved into a secret government compound.

She is re-named Ginormica and held along with a group of monsters.

Sutherland plays General WR Monger, an armed forces lifer who finally finds a use for his collection of detained monsters when aliens begin storming Earth.

The premiere will take place in London’s Leicester Square.
