'The Secret of Kells' sure to enchant

This is a charming and visually stunning animated tale set around Ireland’s famous Book of Kells.

Young Brendan (Maguire) lives in Kells Abbey and when it is visited by Aidan (Lally) from Iona, who brings the book, he is inspired by its beauty to become an illustrator.

When Aidan finds he needs berries from beyond the Abbey walls to complete his illustrations Brendan goes against the instructions of the Abbot (Gleeson) and enters the outside world to find them.

The storyline might disappoint – the young hero faces some adventures with raiding Vikings – but the animation is a delight and strong enough to enchant you.
