Beckham wows critics at NY fashion week
Victoria Beckham's new clothing line has wowed critics at New York fashion week.
The former Spice Girl's attempts to launch a design career have been mocked by many, amid rumours of bust ups with the labels she has worked with.
But Beckham unveiled her new range of dresses, jackets and mini-skirts at the Manhattan event this week, and has left fashion writers shocked and impressed.
Style.com writes: “These dresses look so well-made, so of-the-moment yet also timeless, that they do the talking for (Beckham).”
Women's Wear Daily adds: "Though too early to tell - a mere two collections into her second career - judging from the controlled lineup she showed on Sunday, it seems that (Beckham) may indeed be no lightweight."
And Beckham is thrilled with the response, telling People.com: "It’s been wonderful. The reviews have been absolutely outstanding. The retail response has been wonderful. The sales grew, so far, over the previous collection. It has been phenomenal. The whole thing is mind-blowing to be honest. I love what I do."
