Jolie and Pitt to make NY their permanent base?

Angelina Jolie has fuelled reports she and partner Brad Pitt will make New York their permanent home after she was spotted viewing an apartment in Manhattan - just weeks after signing a lease on a mansion in Long Island.

The actress, who shares six children with Pitt, was snapped leaving an apartment building currently under renovation in the Washington Heights area of the Big Apple on Tuesday afternoon.

An eyewitness tells Usmagazine.com Jolie spent 25 minutes in the apartment, adding: "The building had work permits and it seemed like they were probably being remodelled for (buyers') tastes.

"The building is pretty fancy. It's really nice."

Jolie recently closed a deal on a $60m (€47.2m) property in Long Island, reportedly in preparation for her forthcoming project 'Salt', which will be filmed in New York.
