I quit 'X Factor' because of Dannii, says Sharon

Sharon Osbourne said today she quit as an 'X Factor' judge because of Dannii Minogue.

The 56-year-old left the ITV1 show in June after four series, saying it was “time to move on”.

Reports at the time suggested regular clashes with fellow panellist Minogue were also behind the decision, and Osbourne confirmed this in a magazine interview.

“I left because of Dannii Minogue. Simple as that,” she told Closer magazine.

“I didn’t enjoy working with her at all and didn’t fancy the prospect of spending six months sitting next to her.”

Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole replaced Osbourne for the show’s fifth series and was a huge hit with viewers.

Osbourne rejected the suggestion that her fall-out with Minogue came about because she was jealous of the younger woman’s looks.

“I’ve not built my career on my looks or my youth,” she said.

“There was no competition in that way.”
