Lily makes it a charts double

Lily Allen was celebrating a double triumph after her new album matched the success of her best selling single and went straight to the top of the charts.

Lily’s single 'The Fear' has reigned supreme at the top of the UK singles chart for the last three weeks.

And yesterday 'It’s Not Me It’s You' was the highest new entry in the album charts, straight in at number one.

The success of her album follows the singer appealing on her MySpace blog for people to buy the record.

Allen held off the challenge of New Yorker Lady Gaga’s 'Just Dance' once again in the singles chart, but may come under pressure next week after two charts heavyweights made their presence felt today.

The Prodigy, former darlings of the rave and dance seen, are back in the Top 10 with this week’s highest new entry 'Omen', straight in at number eight.
