Troubled R n'B star Chris Brown's sister has come to her sibling's defence, insisting the singer is a "good boy".

Lytrell Bundy agreed to appear on US news show 'Extra' to speak out about the negative press her brother is getting following his alleged Sunday morning fight with girlfriend Rihanna.

Brown was charged with making criminal threats following the fracas, which left Rihanna reportedly needing medical attention for head wounds.

Bundy admits she was shocked when she first heard the news of her brother's arrest, stating: "He’s always been a good boy. Never violent."

She also told 'Extra' that Brown is "doing good" and "coping" as the weekend fight continues to make headline news around the world.

On Tuesday, Brown's ex-stepfather, Donnelle Hawkins, confessed he was not surprised to hear the news, adding: "He has to take responsibility for his own actions."
