'Family illness' forces Usher to cancel pre-Grammy show
Usher was forced to pull out of Clive Davis' pre-Grammy Awards party due to a family crisis.
The R&B star was expected to perform at the tribute bash for the revered music mogul on Saturday night alongside Whitney Houston and Jennifer Hudson.
But Davis told the star-studded audience Usher wouldn't be appearing, explaining the star's mother-manager had cited a "serious illness in the family" as the reason behind the missed appearance.
According to Access Hollywood, Usher's wife Tamika Foster had reportedly suffered complications following alleged cosmetic surgery in Brazil.
A representative for the star has refused to comment any further on the reports.
