At least, in the film’s favour, you get exactly what you expect: plenty of hectic action and some passing black humour.

The Punisher, whose mission is to punish evil while being just as evil himself, notches up a collection of agents and hoods out to get him after one of his missions goes wrong … thus, the chase is everything.

Stevenson is excellent as our anti-hero Frank Castle, Salmon is the agent Budiansky bent on bringing him to justice and West is the hood Russoti, badly disfigured in the botched mission.

It certainly delivers.
