Prince plays gig from home

Prince treated fans to a surprise performance over the internet last weekend - by broadcasting a live gig from his basement.

The singer launched his new official website by taking to the stage with a full band at his Los Angeles home on Saturday, playing to a handful of journalists, competition winners and celebrity fans, including soul singer Anita Baker.

Prince ran through a variety of his hit singles as well as treating the online audience to a selection of covers, including The Rolling Stones' 'I Miss You'.
