Moore stunned by reaction to internet rant

Demi Moore will think twice before ranting online again - after her last Internet posting sparked a war of words with her neighbour and attracted a flood of media attention.

The 'Ghost' star and her actor husband Ashton Kutcher both went on the web to complain about screenwriter Bruce Goldsmith's construction work, which has been waking them up at 7am daily.

Moore wrote on her social networking Twitter page: "The neighbour doing construction with six guys pounding hammers against steel at 7am is no way to wake up!"

Meanwhile, Kutcher posted: "I'm gonna kill my neighbour!"

Several US press outlets reported the incident and Goldsmith himself fired back at the 'Punk'd' star by telling website TMZ.com that Kutcher "just doesn't want to deal with reality. He's out of line".

But Moore insists she didn't realise the controversy their words would create.

She told US news show Access Hollywood: "By the time it was done, we were laughing. We both went to our respective appointments and by the time we each got to where we were going, we couldn't believe what had happened.

"We're big fans of Twitter. We're addicted. It was in good humour, wasn't meant in any way to be mean-spirited."

Hours after the incident, Kutcher posted a video online in which he apologised to Goldsmith for taking his grievances to the Internet.
