Hefner's Super Bowl party cancelled

The downturn in the global economy has hit Hugh Hefner's Playboy empire hard - he's had to scrap his nine-year-old tradition of holding a pre-Super Bowl party before the big game at the weekend.

The ageing lothario has been hosting the annual Playboy event since 2000, but he's decided to cut back on the extravagance this year after bosses at the adult magazine announced a number of job cuts.
