Singer Lily Allen was so devastated after miscarrying her first child she checked into a psychiatric clinic last year.

The pop star fell pregnant in late 2007 with her now ex-boyfriend - Chemical Brothers DJ Ed Simmons - but lost the baby in January 2008.
